Calling all journalists, editors, writers, public relations professionals, and storytellers of all kinds!

Join The Disability Network, (TDN) for a lunch-and-learn style conversation on both creating and authoring impactful stories about people with disabilities (PWD) and disability issues.

Please call 810-742-1820 if you would like to request an accomodation for this talk.

Led by Joel Feick, this casual online conversation is a great opportunity to learn more about inclusive storytelling that both asserts and reaffirms PWD’s in non-ableist language and story angles.

We’ll assess our biases and attitudinal barriers that keep us from telling authentic stories. TDN staff will be in attendance to help navigate important topics and approaches. Come with your lunch and of course your questions!

We will cover:
– Person-First Language: Avoiding Ableist Language
– Disabilities: ‘More Than You Think’
– Resources: Tools & Tips
– Developing the Story
– Conducting Interviews
– Sharing accessible content
