Who We Are

The Disability Network is a Center for Independent Living serving individuals in the Flint & Genesee County area. We support and empower people with disabilities to live independently in Genesee County through person-centered services, advocacy, and collaboration.

*We are NOT a crisis center*

If you are experiencing crisis please call the GHS 24 Hour Crisis Hotline (810) 257-3740 or TEXT Crisis Line: Text FLINT to 741741 – 24 hours a day.

Since 1992, TDN has worked with thousands of individuals in the areas of independent living skills development, information and referral, peer support, adult transitional living, and advocacy.

We are changing the conversation on disability from fear, pity, victim, and stigma to hope, opportunity, expectation, and a sense of purpose. Discover how disability is more than you think.

We support youth and adults with disabilities through our core services:

  • Advocacy
  • Information and Referral
  • Peer Support

  • Independent Living Skills

90% of our team & board self-identify as having a disability

Two women stand close together outdoors, smiling at the camera at what appears to be a community event. The woman on the left wears glasses and a light blue T-shirt with a “Genesee County is for everyone” design, holding a phone at her side. The woman on the right has gray hair in pigtails, colorful face paint across her face, and wears a bright shirt with dolphins and ocean imagery, with sunglasses hanging from the collar. They stand in front of a building with large windows; a canopy tent, speakers, and several other people are visible in the background.
